Digital Radiography (DR/2D)
2-Dimensional X-ray Imaging captures images in real time, relaying the information on a monitor. This live method allows the user to continually shift and change the position of the subject in question, recording static images or live video along the way. 2D imagining has its limitations in that the images lack depth (hence the name 2D). In addition, because 2D imaging captures details all the way from the front of the part to the back, these details are often superimposed one on top of the other, potentially obscuring important information.
